Extract from the General and Specific Conditions of the Policy
For those insured who are not residents of the EEC, the coverage period cannot exceed the length of their stay in the EEC.
For the purposes of this contract, an accident is understood to be a bodily injury resulting from a violent, sudden, external cause beyond the control of the Insured, occurring during the practice of the nautical activities described, which directly produces any of the following consequences:
- Death, occurring immediately or within five years from the date of the accident.
- Proportional Permanent Disability, verified within five years from the date of the accident, with the insured receiving compensation based on the degree of disability (according to the scale in the policy).
- Medical and pharmaceutical expenses, transportation, hospitalization, hyperbaric chamber treatment, and rehabilitation required by the insured as a direct result of an accident covered by the policy, for a period of one year from the date of the accident.
- Civil liability to third parties for personal injury or property damage unintentionally caused by the insured.
Furthermore, they are considered accidents:
- Accidental absorption of toxic and corrosive substances.
- Infections resulting from bites, stings, or accidents covered by the policy.
- Injuries sustained in self-defense or while rescuing others.
